Vodafone Ghana was at the weekend adjudged the Telecommunications
Company of the Year 2013, while its Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) programme, HealthLine, picked the TV Programme of the Year 2013
award. This was at the 25th Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Awards held in Accra.
Vodafone
outshone its competitors to emerge Telecommunications Company of the
Year, for its excellent customer service, continuous innovation and
unmatched customer experiences, as well as its unique strategic
marketing insights.
For the third year in a row, Vodafone’s
Healthline initiative won the CIMG TV Programme of the Year award for
its exemplary CSR focus on health for all Ghanaians and for endeavouring
to close the doctor-patient gap in Ghana. HealthLine has also
contributed to demystifying supposed tabooed diseases and empowering
Ghanaians to freely talk about their health.
The Vodafone
Healthline initiative enjoys massive viewership nationwide as it
educates Ghanaians on important health issues and sponsors medical
treatment for patients who need urgent medical attention but cannot
afford the cost.
Commenting on the awards, Harris Broumidis, Chief
Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, expressed his appreciation to
Vodafone employees and all consumers. He said “It’s certainly great news
that we have been recognized for delivering on our brand promise,
empowering our customers and giving them real value.
He said the
awards are a manifestation of the hard work put in by Vodafone employees
in satisfying customers, given how competitive the Ghanaian telecom
industry has become over the past few years.
