While no date has been given for the launch of the device, Arif Choudhary, VP of Tecno Group, stated that: “Tecno Mobile has tried to bring budget smartphones and data phones to Africa. Every month in Nigeria, it can shift 1.3 million to 1.5 million devices.”
IT News Africa recently published the 10 benefits of the $50 USD smartphone. This goes to show that mobile device manufacturers are definitely taking up the challenge to provide affordable devices to the African mobile sector.
