Theresa attended University of Cape Coast where she obtained BA (Hons) in English and Diploma in Education and subsequently taught English in Aburi Girls Secondary School. Theresa traveled to the United Kingdom where she couched an enviable educational and work trail.
Her academic laurels include BA(Hons), Dip Ed Cape Coast, CPE London Guildhall, LPC College of Law (London), LLM Oil and Gas Law, RGU (Aberdeen), Solicitor and (England and Wales), Complaints & Ombudsman Studies, Queen Margaret University (Edinburgh).
She is an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) specialist from her previous role as Senior Partner of Shores Anchor Solicitors, London for 9 years. Theresa was also a Partner at Liberty Solicitors, London for 2 years.
Theresa’s legal training and experience started when she worked briefly with Hackney Citizens’ Advice Bureau and Free representation Unit in London in 1993. She registered as a student with the Law Society of England and Wales and started her CPE Law degree conversion in the same year at London Guildhall University.
Whist she was working full time, Theresa also pursued her academic laurels at the same time. She completed her CPE and pursued her Law School (LPC) at the prestigious College of Law (London). Theresa resigned her work as a Commissioning Officer in London Borough of Brent to embark on her training contract at Liberty Solicitors in 2002 where she later become a Partner in 2003 through sheer work and determination.
Theresa Naana Quartey worked for a period of 9 years as Benefits Reviews, Appeals and Complaints Consultant on behalf of 8 local authorities throughout the UK; including Havant Borough Council, Hambleton Borough Council, Devon County Council, London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Hackney, Lambeth, London Borough of Islington, London Borough of Southwark and London Borough of Croydon. She as a Consultant worked for Delliote and Touché in London Borough of Ealing.
Theresa worked for a period of 3 years as Benefits Commissioning Officer for London Borough of Brent from 1996 to 1999; a highly regarded job, which involved implementation of compliance and quality assurance of services rendered by outsourced companies in line with the legal framework, policies and procedures of the Borough.
Theresa is highly experienced in leading complex and high profile legal cases both within the public sector and private sector. She did several deals in residential and commercial real estate acting on behalf of high net worth clients. Theresa is articulate, intelligent with exceptional communication skills. In May 2012, she made advisory presentation on Produce Water and Employment issues within the UK to the giant Russian Energy companyGazprom, a company, worth over $360 billion USD.
From 2003 to 2004, she was part of UK government pilot scheme involving Solicitors who represented undefended defendants in court. Theresa has excellent contracts drafting, review and negotiation skills and was able to advise an Eastern African Communication company in negotiating a multinational eal in excess of $250 million USD.
Theresa is a skilful Arbitrator, Negotiator and Mediator with a good track record of resolving difficult disputes. An exceptional Complaints and Ombudsman interventions and compensative investigative work and adjudications.
