According to the latest figures from industry regulator NCA. The number of mobile subscriptions in Ghana have increased by 1.4 percent to 30.78 million in January 2015 compared to 30.36 million in December 2014, with the penetration rate reaching 108.48 percent.

Tigo’s subscriber base increased to 4.20 million from 4.13 million, with the market share increasing to 14.28 percent. The number of Airtel subscribers advanced to 3.75 million from 3.73 million and its market share increased to 12.35 percent.

According to the report, MTN’s subscriber base increased to 13.94 million from 13.85 million, with the company’s market share reaching 45.6 percent. Vodafone’s subscriber base increased to 7.18 million from 7.07 million; however, its market share decreased to 21.97 percent from 23.29 percent.

Glo’s subscriber base fell to 1.44 million from 1.45 million, although the company’s market share increased to 5.17 percent. Expresso ended the month with a subscriber base of 274,550, up from 199,059 the month before. The company’s market share went to 0.59 percent for its CDMA network.
