According to <a href="http://www.ghana.gov.gh/index.php/media-center/news/975-e-registrar-portal-launched-in-accra">ghana.gov.gh,</a>
 Ghana has launched an e-registrar portal. The portal is aimed at 
streamlining business registrations in the country. According to the 
media release, the Portal will be integrated with the Ghana E-Payments 
Portal (GEPP) and the Ghana Revenue Authority e-Tax Portal and make use 
of the Tax Identification Number (TIN) to identify portal users. Users 
can access the portal via <a href="http://www.rgd.gov.gh/">www.rgd.gov.gh</a> or <a href="http://www.rgdservices.com/">www.rgdservices.com</a>.

According to the statement, the Minister for Communications, Dr 
Edward Omane-Boamah, stated that: “The portal was a strong statement of 
commitment by government to Ghanaians as the online community was an 
emerging digital economy.”

The portal, Dr Omane-Boamah said, would enhance efficiency and 
effectiveness in securing business and company registration, estate 
administration and marriage registration through prior booking, 
particularly as it came with an electronic payment facility.

“This will enable clients to access the services from their homes, offices, anywhere around the earth and at the same time, pay for the services through the government online payment system studied 
by the National IT Unit through the Ministry of communication”, Dr 
Omane-Boamah.

Furthermore, he said, the E-Registrar portal was intended to provide 
trust and confidence to accessing services online on the benefits of 
time saved and cost reduced, and give others the opportunity to enjoy 
the convenience it brought, as well as eliminate middlemen, popularly 
known as “Goro Boys” and long queues. 
The statement revealed that Dr Omane-Boamah reiterated government’s 
commitment to transforming service delivery within the public agency to 
enable them deliver electronic services to the citizenry by focusing on 
building trust for the users and consumers as well as establishing 
ground rules for the digital market place while enhancing  the 
information infrastructure for new commas and maximizing the benefits of
 E-services.

The Acting Executive Director of the
National Service Scheme (NSS), Dr. Michael Kpessa Whyte, has advised the
leadership of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) not to allow themselves
to be used as agents of selfish politicians. <o:p></o:p>

Dr. Michael Kpessa Whyte made the
call in an interview with the Daily Express on the sidelines of the 6th
National delegates congress was held under the theme “National Service – A
period of Transition”. He asked executives of service personnel to use the
opportunity given them to collaborate with government so they could all have a
mutual benefit.<o:p></o:p></div>
 
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-align: justify;">
“NASPA and National Service can only
grow when the scheme management and your executives collaborate.  If the other party who is expected to collaborate
with us (NSS) is not available to be collaborating with… your interest is
sacrifice and we don’t want your interest to be sacrifice” he said.<o:p></o:p></div>

The Acting Director indicated that
the leadership of service personnel can’t contest government and win without
cooperation. Dr. Kpessa –Whyte implored NASPA executives to desist from using their
position to extort money from potential service personnel with the view of
influencing their postings.<o:p></o:p></div>

“The act of using one’s position to
collect money with the view that one can influence the places where potential
national service personnel are posted is corruption and must be not be
encouraged” he bemoaned. <o:p></o:p></div>

Dr. Michael Kpessa Whyte said
government is willing to cooperate with NASPA in addressing their grievances
but won’t tolerate personnel who refuse to cooperate. <o:p></o:p></div>

“Myself and all my colleagues in the
national service will not tolerate anybody who will come there and flex their
waist around as if they are there to tell management what to do. We will be
willing to welcome anybody who is willing to cooperate…..  the name of the game is partnership and
cooperation, National Service- NASPA are not political parties , they are
institution of state and the other one is an association of past student who
are serving” he concluded.</div>

According to the latest figures from industry regulator NCA. The number of mobile subscriptions in Ghana have increased by 1.4 percent to 30.78 million in January 2015 compared to 30.36 million in December 2014, with the penetration rate reaching 108.48 percent. 
 
Tigo’s subscriber base increased to 4.20 million from 4.13 million, 
with the market share increasing to 14.28 percent. The number of Airtel 
subscribers advanced to 3.75 million from 3.73 million and its market 
share increased to 12.35 percent. 
 
According to the report, MTN’s subscriber base increased to 13.94 
million from 13.85 million, with the company’s market share reaching 
45.6 percent. Vodafone’s subscriber base increased to 7.18 million from 
7.07 million; however, its market share decreased to 21.97 percent from 
23.29 percent. 
 
Glo’s subscriber base fell to 1.44 million from 1.45 million, 
although the company’s market share increased to 5.17 percent. Expresso 
ended the month with a subscriber base of 274,550, up from 199,059 the 
month before. The company’s market share went to 0.59 percent for its 
CDMA network.

The Government Assurance Committee (CGA) of the Parliament of Ghana, 
has unveiled a new online digital platform project in order to engage 
with citizens and amplify their voices on promises made by Ministers to 
ensure accountability. The online platform can be visited <a href="http://www.assurances.gov.gh/#/" target="_blank">here</a>. 
According to the CGA, the platform is integrated with Mobile App, SMS
 and social media features and was developed with clear focus on the 
needs of the end users, and a vision to ensure that citizens are able to
 engage with parliament to monitor the implementation of government 
assurances and actively participate in the process of assessing 
government and hold it more accountable via an innovative, easy to use, 
interactive online platform. 
The project aims to assist the CGA to undertake its mandate of 
monitoring all assurances and promises made by the executive arm of 
government. 
The project, which is in collaboration with Penplusbytes, with 
support from the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA), seeks 
to create a digital platform for the general public to share information
 with the committee. 
Chairman of the Committee, Emmanuel Bedzrah, and MP for Ho West, at 
the ceremony, held in Accra dubbed “Connecting Citizens to Parliament” 
project, said the work of the committee in ensuring accountable 
governance had been further boosted by the inclusion of technology in 
their activity. 
Bedzrah said the platform presented a new way of engaging the 
citizenry, adding that the committee was the first in Parliament to go 
digital. 
Bedzrah also stated that the committee had the mandate to follow any 
minister who made any promise, pledges on the floor of Parliament or 
before any committee without referral by the Speaker. 
According to Bedzrah, “Citizen engagement is vital to the survival of
 democracy in current democratic dispensation, and that any government 
that wants to survive its mandate must engage those who elected them.” 
He used the occasions to announce the modalities of the committee’s 
work; making known all the available platforms and how they could be 
utilized. 
Jerry Sam, Project Director at Penplusbytes said the “connecting 
citizens to Parliament” project had successfully enabled CGA and key 
stakeholders to actively keep track of key government promises in the 
last year. 
He said they had expanded the array of avenues that citizens could 
engage using short code 9030, mobile app admin.assurance. gov.gh /mobil,
 as well as social media tools such as Facebook 
www.facebook.com/govassurancesgh, and Twitter@govassurance .gov.gh.He 
was hopeful Penplusbytes would consolidate the vitality of the 
interaction between Parliament and citizens with more effective tracking
 of assurances that would be followed up by the committee to provide 
feedback to citizens. 
The Committee on Government Assurances (CGA) is a Standing Committee 
of Parliament, created by the standing Orders in 1998 to exercise 
oversight responsibility over the Executive. 
Order 174 (2) of the Standing Orders of Parliament indicates that it 
shall be the duty of the Committee on Government Assurances to pursue 
all assurances, promises and undertaking given by Ministers from time to
 time. 
It shall also be the function of the Committee to report to the House
 on the extent to which such assurances have been fulfilled.

According to a report by <a href="http://myjoyonline.com/business/2015/March-18th/analog-tv-to-begin-fading-away-by-june-17-ato-sarpong.php">myjoyonline</a>,
 the Ghanaian Government is optimistic that it will meet the digital 
switchover deadline. The statement comes after a commercial Court in 
Accra threw out an injunction application seeking to prevent government 
from going ahead with the digital migration process. 
 
According to the report, Deputy Minister of Communications, Ato 
Sarpong, said government has deployed the digital video broadcasting 
terrestrial 2 infrastructure in which each broadcasting firm will be 
given a specific frequency to operate with.

He added that “currently when you take a TV station… that terrestrial
 TV network is assigned a frequency – a band to operate within, either a
 Very High Frequency (VHF) or an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) band to 
operate in. Now each broadcaster currently will be doing about six to 
eight megahertz of spectrum in analog.” 
 
Sarpong added that digital boxes will be out on sale shortly before 
the June 17 deadline. Sarpong explained that: “global entities that are 
in the business of manufacturing television sets, manufacturing 
transmitters, manufacturing equipment within the broadcasting space, 
from the 17th of June; 2015, will not be in the business of manufacturing analog equipment again.” 
 
In the report Sarpong explained that all TV sets must be upgraded to 
the terrestrial or hybrid platform to enhance TV viewing pleasure for 
all.</div>

I am so sad by the theme of the demonstration embark by some Ghanaian's yesterday.  I am not against the demonstration; but the theme is not worthy enough. If my fellow Christians can rally with such consciousness of ‘won gbo, then we have indeed lost it as a nation. 
According to Daniel 11: 32; but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. If you understand as a Christian; that you are an ambassador of Christ, and the harshness of the economy will not affect you; because your are divinely exempted. 
I believe we can do better as a Christian nation. It's okay to demonstrate, but let us be minded of the message we are sending forth. There are better themes to address our concerns.

LoveRealm, the Christian social network based in Accra, Ghana has 
revealed that it has rebranded its current landing page. Speaking to the
 press, Yaw Ansong Jnr, CEO of LoveRealm stated that: “The essence of 
the redesign of our landing page is to announce to the world our 
re-branding efforts.” 

Yaw Ansong Jnr continued by saying that: “Past images of what our 
social network would look like were clunky. The world is leaning towards
 cleaner and minimalistic interfaces, so we re-designed the social 
network’s User Interface. To reflect this change in design style, we 
also redesigned our landing page.” 

The company also announced that experienced people had joined the 
global team in the past months. This includes Jeff Richardson, a former 
Silicon Valley programer, who takes on role as Chief Technology Officer,
 and Vladmir Dumitraskovic, an experienced Serbian front end developer. 

“We’re still adding great people to our team. We still have top 
candidates with years of market experience yet to join the team. We will
 announce to the public as we grow our wonderful team in the coming 
weeks,” said Yaw. 

On when the network would launch, Yaw explained that the current team
 had grown stronger, unlike in the past and expressed hope that a test 
version should roll out in the next 3 months.

MTN Ghana, the leading telecommunication company in Ghana has introduced a new service to improve its customer care responds experience.

MTN introduces Online Customer Care

Government says the hackers who have taken control of its official website, www.ghana.gov.gh are from Turkey. Deputy Communication Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Wednesday. The Alsancak Tim hackers took down the website in the early hours of Wednesday January 21, 2015 after hacking the sites of some state institutions including the Communication Ministry and Scholarship Secretariat. This has affected government business and people both local and international seeking information have been stumped. Mr Kwakye Ofosu says a team of IT experts are working assiduously to restore the website. He indicated that government has taken a cue from this security lapse and will tighten the security protocol to ensure this does not happen again. Meanwhile, IT expert and founder of E-Crime Bureau, Albert Antwi Boasiako, says the country must invest in its IT infrastructure. He urged government to be proactive on issues of cyber crime by embarking on public education to halt such embarrassment. “I wish people think security when using Information Communications Technology (ICT),” he added. Mr. Antwi Boasiako advised government to find the cause of the hack before restoring the website.

Gov't website www.ghana.gov.gh has been hacked. This was confirmed by Deputy Minister of Communication, Ato Sarpong on Citi Breakfast Show today, Wednesday, January 2015.  Aside the Government of Ghana website, other websites belonging to state agencies have been backed as well. 
 
These are the affected website: Ministry of Communication - www.moc.gov.gh, Scholarhip Secretariat - www.scholarships.gov.gh, Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing - www.mwrwh.gov.gh, Ghana Navy - www.navy.mil.gh, National Service Scheme - www.nss.gov.gh, School Feeding Programme - www.schoolingfeeding.gov.gh Other websites were hacked but have been successfully restored. These include: Ministry of Foreign Affairs - www.mfa.gov.gh, Non-Formal Education Division of GES - www.nfed.gov.gh, Ghana Irrigation Development Authority (GIDA) - www.gida.gov.gh. Talking down on your country is speaking down on your destiny. You can not prosper in a country you do not love and pray for.  
 
I refuse to
stand up and mock anyone, not even my Government. To have a biblical honour
means to honour and obey political authorities, even in the face of bad
government and poor treatment. You cannot get much worse government and poorer
treatment than what was coming out of Rome in Jesus' day. 
 
Spend time and pray for our leaders especially the president of our dear nation Ghana, H.E Mr. John Dramani Mahama 
 
Let me share with you what the bible says concerning praying for others. In Ephesians 6:8 the bible says "Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free." when you spend time praying for the good of your country, leaders, bosses, companies, family relations, friends, etc the same measure will be your reward, the bible makes us understand that praying for other is as praying for oneself. Remember, prayer is a good thing. 
 
Invest into your country and the lives of other spiritual because it is profitable. Spend quality time in prayers interceding for others. In Galatians 6: 8, the bible say " or he that soweth to his 
flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the 
Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting"

The Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) has welcomed Ghana’s commitment to abolish pricey import duties on smartphones. 
 

The Ghanian government has announced these first steps in a drive to 
enable affordable internet access through policy reform. A4AI said the 
step, confirmed in the 2015 Budget presented, was a key recommendation 
developed by A4AI-Ghana Multi-stakeholder coalition established earlier 
this year. 

Proposals to remove this duty were recommended by the A4AI Ghana 
Coalition Working Group on Taxation, led by Kwaku Saakyi-Addo, CEO of 
Telecoms Chamber. 
 

According to Telecompaper, the elimination of the 20 percent import 
duty will essentially reduce the cost of handsets in Ghana, where taxes 
make up approximately 35 percent of the cost of a smartphone. It is 
expected that the increase in smartphone penetration, following the 
lower taxes, will increase revenue from Communication Service Tax, VAT 
and corporate taxes. 
 

In a statement to media the government revealed that: “Communication 
is shifting from voice to data and mobile data is projected to grow 6.3 
times between 2013 and 2018. It is being proposed that in order to 
increase smartphone penetration, and in line with Government’s policy of
 bridging the digital divide within the country, import duties on 
smartphones will be essentially removed. It is expected that the 
increase in smartphone penetration will increase revenue from 
Communication Service Tax, VAT and corporate taxes.” 
 

By removing taxation, according to Sonia Jorge Executive Director of 
the Alliance for Affordable Internet, this will be the first step to get
 Ghanian citizens online.

The Government of Ghana is proposing the

of Finance, Seth Terkper, the new proposal, yet to be presented to 
parliament for consideration and approval, will help increase smart 
phone penetration and the government in its policy of bridging the
